Interactive Hardware Selector v3

Don't overspend on hardware you don't need—or bottleneck your rig with an underpowered CPU. Use our interactive wizard to find the optimal hardware configuration for your specific recording goals.

Step 1: Concurrent Streams

How many streams do you plan to record at the same time?

5 Streams

Hardware Philosophy

GPU-First Encoding

CaptureGem is designed to leverage NVIDIA's NVENC hardware encoder. This offloads the heavy lifting from your CPU, allowing you to record high-bitrate 4K streams with minimal system impact. Always prioritize a modern RTX card with ample VRAM.

CPU Thread Density

While the GPU handles encoding, the CPU manages site connections, metadata, and proxy routing. High concurrent stream counts (30+) require high thread density to manage the I/O interrupts without causing stuttering.
